LA has always known how to make house and hip-hop share a room — and Damar Davis has spent his career perfecting that conversation. Moving between both without breaking stride, he crafts club-ready productions with a producer's ear and a DJ's instinct for the room. A fixture at Boiler Room, Coachella, and Elsewhere, and a monthly presence on Dublab with his Say Less residency, Davis has quietly built one of the more distinctive voices in the city's dance music underground. His 2026 EP In Motion sharpens that identity further: high-energy, percussion-forward club music that plays as well in cars as it does at 2am. As the founder of Salon Recordings — home to IMAGE, Oye Manny, and Bobby Cabbagestalk — he's as committed to the ecosystem as he is to his own output. With mixes on Rinse FM, Mixmag France, and Goyo Club, and co-signs from Steven Julien, Waajeed, Byron The Aquarius, and Black Rave Culture, Davis' reputation has been built the old way: record by record, room by room.
